Abstract

Subsequent to a rather exhaustive research Sr. Deepa offers a
general understanding of pre-nuptial investigation. Then after
explaining the purpose of CIC c. 1067 and CCEO c. 784 dealing
with the norm on such investigation, the author highlights
challenges and problems involved in conducting the prenuptial inquiry and in the light of that, proposes some complementary factors for the effectiveness of the same.

Author Biography

Deepa, MSMI, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram

Sr. Deepa MSMI, is a finally professed member of the MSMI religious
congregation belonging to the Syro-Malabar Church. She holds a BA in
English Literature. She did her licentiate in Oriental Canon Law in the
Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome and finished her Doctoral programme in
2012 in the same institute. She did her spcialization in “Pre-nuptial
Investigation in the Syro-Malabar Church according to CCEO c. 784 and the
particular law of the Syro-Malabar Church.” At present she serves as an
associate judge in the Eparchial Tribunal of Palakkad, in addition to the
assignments and responsibilities in her congregation.
