Abstract

One of the most challenging narratives in the Gospels is the journey of Jesus from Jerusalem to Galilee through Samaria (In 4:4- 42). Because' of the long-standing enmity between the Jews and the Samaritans,' the Jews travelling between Galilee and Judea would not pass through the territory of Samaria; rather they crossed the river Jordan in the north and in the south and travelled through Trans-Jordan, which was a tedious and time-consuming exercise.
