Abstract

The impact of Vatican Council II on the Catholic Church and her teachings and practices is overwhelming. By way of indicating the historical background of its convocation and presenting how it has reformed the theological and ecclesiological vision and ‘people of God’ understanding of the Church, I try to disclose the close affinity between the counciliar teachings and the current body of laws in the Church. The latter evidences that former is not merely to be confined to theory but to be implemented and livied in the concrete life of the Church.
