Abstract

We find various forms of consecrated life present in the two Codes of Canon Law of the Catholic Church that are in force. With a view to clearing confusions and misunderstandings that one might apparently come across regarding the division of the Institutes of Consecrated life and Societies of Apostolic Life, the author presents the Typical and Non-Typical forms of the Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

John Bosco Santiago

Fr. Santiago John Bosco. cpps., belonging to the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood, was born in Tamil Nadu, India and was ordained Priest by Pope St. John Paul II on 26th of May 1991 at St. Peter’s basilica, Rome. He holds bachelor’s degree and post-graduate degree in history and sociology respectively. He did his licentiate (1992) and doctorate (2003) in Canon Law at the St. Thomas University (Angelicum), Rome. He has rendered service as parish priest, preached retreats. Besides being a lecturer of canon law at DVK, Bangaore, he has been working as Judge, judicial vicar and as defender of bond in different Ecclesiastical Tribunals in India since 1992.
