Abstract

The evangelical mission of the Church, theologically and canonically, is a complex reality comprised of various forms of the apostolate. Each Church sui iuris must fulfill the missionary task that obliges the universal Church. Today, the Syro-Malabar Church is a major archiepiscopal Church with a global presence. However, as a whole, the Syro-Malabar Church does not possess a missionary thrust as such towards the new evangelization which must have become part of the mission of the Commission for Evangelization.
