Abstract

New avenues and new frontiers of knowledge are ever opening up and the exponential rise in the output of knowledge 'knows no boundaries. The question, how this knowledge explosion affects our value-consciousness and the way of life is very seldom raised. That which is known becomes a value indeed, when it is related to the integral development of the being of man. But when that conviction is realized in a life-context and lived for an appreciable time, it] becomes a  cognizable form of culture. It is heartening to note that the Indian Philosophical Congress selected this theme for its fiftieth anniversary.
