Abstract

Devotions, whether they are popular or not are part and parcel of the life of any human being. A human being is a devotee by nature. Psychologists like Erich Fromm consider devotion as a universal human variable which is rooted in the very conditions of human existence. I He describes the psychological roots of man's need for devotion in his book Man for Himself.
