Abstract

Sony Kadamthodu presents the issue of the dissolution of
marriage bond and discusses how the separation of marriage
takes place in the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church. He
considers the Decree of the Apostolic Signatura in relation to the
Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church and the question of the
joint consideration of inter-Church marriages. The author also
mentions how through a verification process Orthodox
Sentence on Marriage can be acknowledged by the Catholic Church. 

Author Biography

Sony Kadamthodu, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram


Fr. Sony Kadamthodu, born on 30 November 1970 at Changanacherry,
Kerala, was ordained priest on 2 January 1996 in the Archieparchy of
Changanacherry. Having obtained a Master’s Degree in Oriental Canon
Law in 2002 from the institute of Oriental Canon Law, Dharmaram Vidhya
Kshetram, Bangalore, India, he served the archieparchy in various capacities
like parish priest, vice chancellor of the Archieparichial curia etc. He holds a
doctorate from St. Pius X Canon Law Faculty, Venice and presently he is
pursuing a three year diploma course in Rota Romana, Rome.
