The mystery of resurrection is at the heart of Christian faith and life. It is also the centre of Christian liturgical celebration. For the Eastern Christians the peace and joy of resurrection permeates in all their liturgy and spirituality. As T. Federici says, “for the Eastern Christians the Easter is the centre, fount, summit and all.” This article is a short enquiry into the writings of the septuagenarian Rev. Dr. Varghese Pathikulangara CMI,2 on the mystery of resurrectionthe key concept of his theological vision, and its expressions in the liturgy and life

Geo Pallikunnel, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK)

Dr Geo Pallikunnel, CMI, is associate professor in Eastern Liturgy and director of the Centre for Eastern and Indian Christian Studies (CEICS) at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram (DVK), Bangalore. He had his higher studies in theology and Syriac language at DVK, Oriental Institute, Rome and Oxford, UK, and did his licentiate and doctorate in Eastern Liturgy at the Oriental Institute. Besides the abstract of his doctoral dissertation (Elevation to the Divine State Through Holy Qurbana, Excerpta ex Dissertatione ad Doctoratum, Romae 2009), he has published many scholarly articles.
