Abstract

This article is an attempt to make a brief study of priesthood in
Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Hinduism may be
considered the mother of all the religions of India; all other religions
are in some way related to Hinduism. Buddhism, Jainism and
Sikhism were born as reactions against some unacceptable
practices and customs in Hinduism.
